On June 28, 2016 the colourful and fun “wind tunnel” was inaugurated, created by the artist Sergio Staino and his son Michele. The work consists of ten images reproduced on polycarbonate panels that enrich the approximately 8000 square meters of the mechanical and biological treatment plant (MBT).
From the cicada to the lizard and then again the Burgundian snail, the rhinoceros beetle, the turtle and many others “small animals that live among the clods, in the grass, in the marshes, at the height of the daisies, in fact”, as claimed by Staino himself, who in a procession drawn with ironic stroke and bright colours tell the tale of princesses and whores, pompous military men and brave knights, but also acrobats and musicians animating a habitual construction site with colours and presences. The ten subjects are inspired by a phrase by photographer Mario Dondero: “living at the height of daisies”, those daisies that the cartoonist has also caught all around the lawn surrounding the plant.
